We celebrated the 100th anniversary of our beloved St Rose of Lima Parish the weekend of 8/23/24-8/25/24.

Live Stream Instructions for Friday Mass
Hello St Rose of Lima Family. We have had a great celebration this weekend with Friday's feast day mass followed and meet & greet. Last night was the spaghetti dinner and a Walk Down Memory Lane. Is was a great evening.
Again, assuming technology cooperates, we will be live streaming the bi-lingual mass today at 11:30am.
Non-Facebook can attempt to view the live stream following these instructions (based on Friday's experience, you need to be persistent in looking for right feed; otherwise, the recording will be available anytime after completion of mass):
- Open a web browser and type: www.facebook.com/live
- Hit the "X" when it ask you to login or create an account
- In the Search box enter srl80223su
- When you get the search results on the main section of the webpage, look for the exact match to srl80223su and you should see the inside of the church
- click on that video and turn your speaker on and you should be set
Please share these instructions with any of your family and friends that don't have Facebook but still want to watch the mass.
100 Year Celebration Schedule
Friday, August 23, 2024 - St Rose of Lima Feast Day Bilingual Mass at 6pm followed by a meet and greet in the School Gymnasium. Come view some photos and some historical information pertaining to Saint Rose of Lima. Beverages and desserts will be provided. (NO TICKETS REQUIRED)
Saturday, August 24, 2024 - Italian Dinner will require tickets so be certain to purchase yours in advance. Tickets can be bought after all Masses beginning the weekend July 20th & 21st. First come, first serve until all tickets are sold.
Sunday, August 25, 2024 - Bilingual Mass at 11:30am followed by a BBQ/Picnic Celebration provided by our Saint Rose of Lima Hispanic Committee. (TICKETS WILL BE SOLD SAME DAY OF THIS EVENT)

After the rebuilding of the church and rectory, Father Wogan rebuilt the parish. There was a large and active Holy Name Society. They had two bingos a year - Easter and Thanksgiving. Altar & Rosary Society cleaned the church each week and washed & ironed linens. There was an active PTA, 3 or 4 Christian Family Movement groups, 3-5 Woman’s Circle.
Many women belonged to St Monica’s Circle. Father Wogan asked the ladies to organize and invite the younger members of the parish to join. The circle’s purpose was to make baptism gowns and complete office work for the parish.
There was a Legion of Mary group headed by Chuck Onofrio. There was also an active St Vincent DePaul Society and an active youth group with Bill & Mary Frances Jasper.
When Bishop Evans came, we were able to be eucharistic ministers and lectors and have girl altar servers. We participated in the Charge and Chug. With Fr Dold we had sedar meals during Lent. When Fr Dold and Fr Jack were both here they as a mission or retreat called Circle of Hope.
When Bishop Evans passed away St Rose was allowed to have a mass for him before the mass at the Basilica. Fr Jack had the bishop’s last note placed on a plaque which hung in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel for a number of years.
